The PADI Tec 45 course is the next step in your technical diving journey, designed for certified divers who wish to explore deeper dive sites safely. This course builds on your existing knowledge, allowing you to conduct dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters (145 feet) while applying advanced techniques and equipment.

Course Overview

The Tec 45 course equips you with the skills and knowledge necessary to plan and execute technical dives within no-decompression limits. You will gain a deeper understanding of dive planning, gas management, and emergency procedures, all essential for safe technical diving.

Course Structure and Dives

  1. Knowledge Development:
    • Study advanced dive theory, covering topics such as:
      • Advanced dive planning and execution
      • The use of multiple gas blends and their implications
      • Decompression theory and emergency procedures
      • Equipment configurations and technical diving gear
  2. Confined Water Training:
    • Develop critical skills in a controlled environment, including:
      • Proper handling of multiple gas mixtures
      • Emergency ascent techniques and gas-switching procedures
      • Buoyancy control and stability with additional equipment
  3. Open Water Dives (minimum of four dives):
    • Dive 1: Depth Familiarization: Conduct a dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters (100 feet). Focus on gas management, buoyancy, and monitoring your dive computer while practicing emergency procedures.
    • Dive 2: Advanced Gas Management: Perform a dive to 40 meters (130 feet), practicing the use of multiple gas blends and simulating gas switches during your ascent and descent.
    • Dive 3: No-Decompression Dive: Execute a planned dive to the maximum depth of 45 meters (145 feet), implementing all learned skills, including advanced planning, ascent rates, and managing your gas supply.
    • Dive 4: Comprehensive Technical Dive: Conduct a complete technical dive to 45 meters (145 feet), integrating skills from previous dives while practicing real-world scenarios, including emergency procedures and dive planning.
